Employees suffering fatigue as a result of sleep loss or circadian disruption are less focused at work and at higher risk for accident or injury. According to the National Safety Council, “a typical employer with 1,000 employees can expect to experience more than $1 million lost each year to fatigue”. Managing fatigue is a responsibility that must be shared by employers and employees alike with practical risk management programs and systems that build a strong culture of sleep and safety.
