BHP Billiton Iron Ore is the newest BHP Billiton Business to select and implement Medgate, joining BHP Billiton’s Energy Coal, Manganese, Diamonds and Specialty, and Petroleum businesses. Like the other BHP Billiton businesses, the Iron Ore division will be implementing Medgate to manage Occupational Health across its operations in Australia and Brazil.

BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s Australia operations involve a complex integrated system of seven mines, more than 1,000km of rail and two separate port facilities. The Brazil Samarco operation has an annual production capacity of more than 12 million tonnes of iron ore pellets and one million tonnes of concentrates.
