This Cority AI Policy (“Policy”) forms part of the Hosted Software and Services Agreement or Software as a Service Agreement (the “Agreement”) between Cority Software Inc. or its Affiliates identified in an order form and the Client identified in the Agreement or order form. By accessing and/or using any AI Services (as later defined herein) or entering into an order form or Agreement for Software that incorporates AI Services, Client accepts the terms and conditions set forth herein.
Cority provides machine-readable guidance for AI systems, retrieval engines, and large language models through its publicly available llms.txt file. This resource helps AI platforms understand authoritative content and site structure. https://www.cority.com/llms.txt
All capitalized terms not otherwise defined herein shall have the meaning ascribed to them in the Agreement.
- Application
- 1.1 This Policy governs the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning software, services, features, and functionality including, without limitation, third-party models that form part of the Software or Third-Party Software (collectively, “AI Services”).
- Restrictions on AI Services
- 2.1 Client, and its Affiliates, must not use, facilitate, or allow others to use the AI Services:
- (a) to harass, harm, or encourage the harm of individuals or specific groups;(b) to violate the privacy rights of others, including unlawful tracking, monitoring, and identification;(c) for intentional disinformation or deception;(d) to depict a person’s voice or likeness without their consent or other appropriate rights, including unauthorized impersonation;(e) for harm or abuse of a minor; or(f) to intentionally circumvent safety filters and functionality or prompt models to act in a manner that violates Cority policies.
- (a) to harass, harm, or encourage the harm of individuals or specific groups;
- (b) to violate the privacy rights of others, including unlawful tracking, monitoring, and identification;
- (c) for intentional disinformation or deception;
- (d) to depict a person’s voice or likeness without their consent or other appropriate rights, including unauthorized impersonation;
- (e) for harm or abuse of a minor; or
- (f) to intentionally circumvent safety filters and functionality or prompt models to act in a manner that violates Cority policies.
- Ethical and Responsible Use of AI
- 3.1 If Client, and its Affiliates use the AI Services to make any decisions, Client, and its Affiliates must evaluate the potential risks of its use case and implement appropriate human oversight, testing, and other use case-specific safeguards to mitigate such risks and to ensure that the AI Services are used in an ethical manner and in accordance with applicable laws. In particular, Client and/or its Affiliates must not use AI Services to make any decisions that may impact a person’s fundamental rights, health, or safety or that may result in unintentional bias in a manner that violates applicable law.
- 3.2 Client agrees to provide information about Client, and its Affiliates’ intended uses of the AI Services and compliance with this Policy upon request.
- 3.3 Client, and its Affiliates are responsible for all decisions made, advice given, actions taken, and omissions based on their use of AI Services. AI Services may incorporate machine learning models that generate predictions based on patterns in data. Output generated by a machine learning model is probabilistic, and generative AI may produce inaccurate or inappropriate content or content that may infringe third-party rights. Outputs should be evaluated for accuracy and appropriateness for Client’s use case.
- 3.4 Client is responsible for ensuring it complies with and will comply with any laws, rules, and regulations applicable to its use of the AI Services including, without limitation, laws specific to artificial intelligence such as the EU AI Act.
- 3.5 Client, and its Affiliates, acknowledge and accept the risk that content generated by AI Services may contain errors, inconsistencies, or outdated information. Client and its Affiliates further acknowledges and agree that they will verify such content before use, and consult with relevant professionals for specific advice. Client and its Affiliates agree to assume sole liability for any claim, consequences or harm that ensues from their failure to do so in each of the foregoing cases.
- Violation of this Policy
- 4.1 A violation of this Policy will amount to a material breach of the Agreement, and Cority may immediately suspend access to AI Services in the event of a material breach of the Agreement.
- Updates
- 5.1 Cority may, from time to time, update the terms and conditions in this Policy. By continuing to use the AI Services, Client agrees to such updated terms and conditions.
